Hi and Welcome to my Yellowstone Half Marathon blog. This blog has no official affiliation with the race but is more of a journal of my preparation for the race. My husband and I both signed up for it yesterday and this will be my first race of any distance in a few years. My husband runs several times a week and has enjoyed more then one race this year. Me, I'll be roughly 3 years out from my last race when I race this one. Basically I'm starting from square one and I hope that my journey can inspire others to run and to enjoy our natural heritage.
To train I'm going to be using a combination of programs including the running app Run Double. I'll be starting with the Run Double Couch to 5k (timed) program and progressing to their 5k Improver. Once those two programs are completed I'll be doing the RD 5k to 10k program. And from there a half marathon program.
More importantly this will be a grand adventure for both my husband and I. He has never been to Yellowstone and I haven't been in two decades. So we're really looking forward to getting out and exploring the park and all it has to offer. So if anyone has any suggestions please feel free to put them out there.
